Colorado Imam Council’s official declaration regarding the beginning of the blessed month of 
Ramadan 1437H.

All praise is due to Allah, and may salutations and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family, his Companions, and those loyal to him.
It is with great joy that the Colorado Imam Council congratulates the Muslims in Colorado, the U.S. and abroad on the arrival of the blessed month of Ramadan, and announces to them the following:
Monday (6/6/16) will be the first day of Ramadan. Check with your local masjid for Ramadan prayers to begin Sunday night (tonight).
Due to the moon being sighted in various countries we will follow them, with the view that one sighting for the Muslims worldwide is enough for everyone to begin their fasting.
Thus, we send this announcement and praise Allah, the Almighty, and ask Him to lift the hardship placed on Muslims throughout the world. We ask Allah to bless this month of Ramadan and to guide us to the best, and to accept our good deeds, Ameen.
